Who is Mike Reuter?

Mike Reuter is the Circuit Clerk of the 23rd Judicial Circuit in the State of Missouri.  Mr. Reuter was first elected in 2014 by double-digit margins in both the primary and general elections.  In 2018, he repeated his 2014 performance, winning a second term as Circuit Clerk.  In 2022, Mr. Reuter will run for his third four-year term. 

 

        Mr. Reuter is a lifetime resident of Jefferson County and has lived a life of service to our community. He attended St. John’s Lutheran School in Arnold, Athena Elementary School in De Soto and graduated from Fox High School, Jefferson College, and the Law Enforcement Academy at Jefferson College.  He served our nation in the United States ARMY both stateside and overseas.  He has also served as a law enforcement officer in the City of Kimmswick and as a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputy.  In addition to his work as the Circuit Clerk for the past eight years, Mr. Reuter is a reserve police officer on evenings and weekends for the City of Pacific in Franklin County.

           As Circuit Clerk, Mike expanded the services offered, introducing a new Information Office to direct visitors to the Courthouse which is helpfully located near the courthouse entrance and a new Passport Office where patrons can obtain assistance with passport application services.

Also, Mr. Reuter increased technology capabilities within the office to keep his office processes moving forward throughout the pandemic while minimizing the number of employees in the Courthouse.  This increased safety, employee retention and satisfaction, efficiency and effectiveness over the past two years.

           Mike is a member of the American Legion, Rotary Club, Elks Club, a lifetime member of the VFW and the NRA and a member of many other religious, political and community service organizations in Jefferson County and the State of Missouri.

           Mike has been married to his high school sweetheart, Renee, for 35 years.  They have two grown sons, both serving in the military, and one grandson.  Mike and Renee live in Imperial with their patriotic pup, Liberty.
